I have now bought 2 of these ‘hoverboards’ /self-balancing scooters as the price has finally dropped to a reasonable level, and reliability, battery life and safety have all increased substantially from when they launched several years ago, and so this hoverboard is a great option for just about anyone who has any sense of balance!As for battery life, maximum distance and maximum speed, thet are all heavly affected by several factors; the user’s/rider’s body weight (and somewhat their size); the surface being ridden on (smoother surface = faster and more efficient), and how the hoverboard is being used (continously speeds and movements will provide much longer battery life/maximum distance compared to lots of sudden, sharp movements and changes in acceleration).As long as you’re not trying to recreate race or drift scenes from the Fast & Furious movies, or trying to reenact the desert chase scene from Mad Max, riding/driving is stable, smooth and the hoverboard is extremely agile (can turn on the spot).Charging is done via the proprietary charger and port (charger included), and can take up to 3 hours if completely empty prior to plugging in. There is a small LED on the charging brick which is red when charging a d green when the hoverboard is fully charged, which is handy as you can easily see the charge status by just glancing at the charging brick.The go kart accessory transforms the 2-wheeled hoverboard into a 3-wheeled go kart, which – as long as you can fit your thiccc thighs and dumptruck in the seat, and your legs/feet on the foot-rest – is amazing fun, and WAY less terrifying to use than the hoverboard alone, as it obviously feels significantly more stable underneath you.One more fun feature, the hoverboard doubles as a bluetooh speaker.. So although I taped over the speaker grill (to muffle the atrociously loud start-up jingle), you can ride around playing W̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶&̶ ̶N̶e̶r̶d̶y̶ Ridin’ or Get Out The Way to complete the hella’ lit experience…

Mixed feelings
The battery life is very short and on first use trying it out inside it burned our carpet…. After some back and fourth with the seller I accomplished nothing and was told it was caused by friction….I know it’s not intended for indoor use but I never thought this would happen. He was only just testing it out. The seller did say if we had anymore problems we could contact them but that doesn’t really help me with this issue.

Faulty charger
Worked good for a few days than it wouldn’t keep it’s charge notified seller they solved the problem and sent me another charger it’s now working great

Use with or without the kart

I bought this as a bundle thinking that my son would only ever want it together, but i was wrong and luckily this setup allows him to switch between having the kart on or off really quickly, the main features though are in the board, it has a separate motor on either side meaning you can do quick handy manoeuvres and the lights really do look funky when in use (they all come on as soon as you step onto the hoverboard).It even takes a full sized adult on it without breaking a sweat, we also tried a little bit of offroad and tarmac use and both seem to be easy to ride on with this thing, i wouldn’t advise using the Kart as an adult though as it is built for children and i don’t think it would take someone heavier.

If the seat moves of the Segway it tends to go out of control

Hover board with go cart attachment
Quality and finish of the hover board and its go cart attachment very good. Looks great.Bluetooth speaker and the many led coloured lights add a nice touch the latter especially at night time. Battery life surprisingly good. Our son loves the options of using the hoverboard standalone or as a go cart.Support and response from seller has been quick and very helpful when we had a query.

So so much fun!

I got this for my kids (8 & 10) and its so much fun, even for grown ups. I’m usually not that good with skates, skateboards etc but found this surprisingly easy to get the hang of. You simply use your body to control it. The board is activated once you step on it (provided it is switched obviously). It also switches off automatically when not in use. The battery lasts for a good while and charging is easy. The cart is also a handy addition although I think we’ll mainly use the board on its own. Very pleased with my find.
